Wednesday, March 6, 2024 please join us in the YHS Commons to learn about how to get involved in high school sports/activities and clubs beginning at 5:15 PM and then at 6:00 PM we will move to the Performing Arts Center for information about graduation requirements and registering for classes for next year.
All students need to be dropped off and picked up through Tornado Alley in the mornings and afternoons. Directions: From Yelm Avenue turn on Tahoma Blvd. SE and go past Yelm Medical Plaza. Turn into Tornado Alley and drop off/pick up students by the portables and exit out of Tornado Alley. Do not use the main entrance for the safety of our student walkers and bicyclists, and to avoid interfering with our school buses. See map for more details.
Students who are driving to campus must register their vehicle and pick up a parking permit to be displayed on their car rearview mirror. Students can register their vehicles with staff in room 103 and will receive a parking permit. Parking permits must be displayed at all times. Student parking is ONLY in the main parking lot. See map for more details.
Yelm Community Schools is asking the community to continue funding of the expiring levy on the April Special Election. This replacement levy is not a new tax and will continue to fund important programs and services so all students, starting in Pre-K, are on a path to on-time graduation, continuing education and work. Learn more on our Levy website page.
For families living outside of their school attendance area, it is time to renew your out of area request for the 2024-2025 school year. Requests must be received by March 15, 2023.
We are now monitoring weather conditions daily and drive the roads early in the morning to check for safe travel. Our goal is to send messaging by 5:30am if school is delayed or closed; otherwise, school is on time. Please remember that roads and sidewalks may still be slippery even if we don't close.
