How to Volunteer

  • Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Yelm Community Schools. Volunteers are a vital part of our students' education.

To volunteer an online volunteer application must be completed. All applications are run through the Washington Access to Criminal History (WATCH) as part of the clearance process.  An applicant's WATCH report must return "cleared" from the WSP in order to become a volunteer.  There are other steps to complete when a report returns with a status other than cleared.

NEW for 2021-22 School Year: As per Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 21-14 on August 18, 2021, on-site volunteers at all public K-12 schools are required to be fully vaccinated or be approved for an exemption. Volunteers may email a copy of their vaccination card or a document from a medical provider to Lisa Zawislak. For vaccination exemptions, please contact the District’s Human Resource Department at (360)458-1900. For more information, please call Lisa Zawislak at (360)458-6100.
