Students interested in applying for a Dollars for Scholars scholarship will need to visit the student and parent portal through
Dollars for Scholars and should also contact the
College and Career Center for additional scholarship opportunities. All scholarships are merit based, meaning scholarship amounts are awarded based on academic performance, school and extra-curricular activities, community service,
goal setting, and interview results.
Yelm Dollars for Scholars is volunteer-run, nonprofit organization and an affiliate chapter of
Scholarship America. Their mission to provide financial support, through community donations and fundraising to Yelm High School graduates who are committed to furthering their education. The committee hosts multiple fundraisers throughout the year, most notably is their annual auction, which reigns in about $100
thousand each year but it takes volunteers to make it happen! Since the organization's
inception in 1994, Yelm Dollars for Scholars has distributed more than $2 million to
Yelm High School graduates, distributing $161,000 to 120 recipients last year alone.
