  • Hands with smiley faces drawn Students new to Yelm Community Schools may register at their neighborhood school. To find out which school your child will attend, please enter your address at the top of the linked SchoolSite Locator Map or call the District Office at 360.458.1900. You must know your address before the district can place your student in the correct school. (If you are requesting to transfer to a school outside of the boundaries, see Boundary Exceptions & Transfers.)

    Once you know which school your student will attend, register at the school directly. Use the drop down menu at the top of the page to go the school's website for more information. A list of schools and phone numbers are at the bottom of this page for quick reference.
     

    General Documentation & Information Required for Enrolling

    Students who have NEVER attended school
       To enroll in Kindergarten - must be age 5 on or before August 31
       To enroll in First Grade - must be age 6 on or before August 31 or previously completed kindergarten
    • Birth Certificate
    • Proof of Immunization (state law requirements)
    • Additional forms required depending on type of enrollment - see options on the left
     

    Transportation
    Students will register for bus transportation at their school.

  • Yelm Community schools educates over 5,900 students each year with 6 elementary schools (grades K-5), 2 middle schools (grades 6-8), 1 high school (grades 9-12) and 1 alternative school.
