Register to Ride 360
-
Yelm Community Schools Transportation Department strives to provide efficient transportation that is consistent for our families. Our goal is to create bus stops and routes that properly service our student population without impacting the capacity of our school buses.
Did you register to ride the bus? Consider enrolling in Traversa Ride 360. Ride 360 allows parents access via a mobile app or on the Ride 360 website to your child’s transportation information.
Besides having your child’s bus stop location, route number, pick-up and drop off times, the Transportation Department will be able to send out notifications and alerts to anyone who has signed up with Ride 360.
No more having to contact the District regarding buses running late due to traffic or inclement weather, you will receive real-time alerts and notifications directly from the school bus.
As a Ride 360 user, you will have the ability to share your child’s transportation information with a daycare or anyone who plays an important part in their school transportation. You will also be able to contact the Transportation office via email or phone, directly from the web or mobile app.
Next Steps:-
If you have already “Registered to Ride,” then you can download the App and create your Ride 360 account.
-
If you haven’t “Registered to Ride,” please register immediately. You will be notified by Transportation when your student has been scheduled on a bus route and then you can create a Ride 360 account.

Emergency School Closure & Delays
Sometimes during the school year, we face the possibility of inclement weather resulting in school closure or schedule changes. Typically, families will be notified of emergency schedule changes by an automated phone call, email and/or text. We will announce closures and delays as early as possible but not later than 5:30 a.m. Occasionally circumstances change quickly and late announcements are unavoidable. The following information is for reference in the event that the schools are closed or buses operate on an emergency schedule:
- School Closure: All schools will be closed all day and any activities planned for the day or evening will be announced by 12pm on the district website.
- Emergency Schedule: Indicates that schools will start on a delayed schedule. Parents are reminded that although the buses will start the runs later, if we are on an emergency schedule, the buses may be slightly later near the end of the run. We request that parents make allowances for this.
- Limited Transportation: Limited transportation will prevail if some roads become inaccessible or if the county announces road closures. If we alter a route, we will send an automated message. School will be in session unless otherwise announced by the Superintendent’s Office.

Safe Walking Zones
School districts are required by Washington State regulations to have suggested walk route plans for every elementary school where children walk to school. The plan must cover a one-mile walking distance from the school and the suggested route to school. The map must be distributed to all elementary school students and their parents. The WSDOT School Walk Route Plans in Washington publishes approved Washington State school walk route maps. Below are the maps for Yelm Community Schools.
