MISSION STATEMENT
The McKenna staff believes that each student is capable of meeting academic standards in reading, writing, and math. AND that the school has the power to make that happen. We believe in College Readiness for all. Every student deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college if they so choose to attend.ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
McKenna Elementary School has approximately 400 students in Kindergarten through 5th grade and 30 students in our Title I Pre-K program. We have 20 general education classrooms and have 5 specialists in the areas of art, music, technology, library, and PE. McKenna is a member of the No Excuses University network of schools. This motivating program is a way for the staff at McKenna to set up 6 exceptional systems to help all students achieve. Along with these 6 systems, comes the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college if they so choose to attend. Each classroom has adopted a college and teachers take time each month to talk about college and careers. Our student know that the road to college begins right here at McKenna Elementary School.
