My Ride K-12
All communicaiton regarding a students bus/van route will be available on My Ride K-12. All guardians must create an account to
- access bus/van stops and time
- receive notifications of bus/van delays or cancellations
- get information about inclement weather bus stops and changes it pick up times
- share access to emergency contacts or students

Create My Ride K-12™ Account on the Website
- Using the Chrome browser, go to My Ride Website.
- If you do not already have a registered email, click Sign up.
- To register, enter your email address, a password, and name.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Click on the link in your
email to confirm your registration through the My Ride K-12 website. - When prompted, search for the Yelm Community Schools.
- Enter the unique information required by your district to find your student (using the Student Number located in Family Access under Student Profile).
- Repeat this step to add additional students.
- To share a student link with another person, select a student and click the Share button.
- Enter the email of the person you would like to share with. That person will receive a confirmation email that will automatically link them to the shared student(s). Recipients must register with My Ride K-12, if they have not already done so, to access the student’s information.
Create My Ride K-12™ Account on a Mobile Device
- Download My Ride K-12 from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- After the app installation is complete, open My Ride K-12.
- When prompted to find your school district, search for the name of the school district your child attends.
- Once you have selected your district, you will proceed to the login page. If you do not already have a registered email, click Register.
- To register, enter your email address, a password, and name.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Tap on the link in your email to confirm your registration through the My Ride K-12 website.
- Log in, then find a student by going to My Students and choosing the + button. This will present the Add Student screen.
- Enter the unique information required by your district to find your student (using the Student Number located in Family Access under Student Profile).
- Repeat this step to add additional students.
- Once you have linked to a student, click on that student’s profile to see all relevant transportation information.
- Press the Share button to share a student link with someone else.
- Enter the email of the person you would like to share with. That person will receive a confirmation email that will automatically link them to the shared student(s). Recipients must register with My Ride K-12, if they have not already done so, to access the student information.
- Regularly check for updates to ensure that your device is running the latest version of the app.
- 13. Remain logged in to the app to receive district notifications, even when the app is not actively running.

Enable Notifications
On Android
Option 1: In your Settings app
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Notifications App Notifications.
- Under "Most recent," find apps that recently sent you notifications. To find more apps, in the dropdown menu, tap All apps.
- Tap the app.
- Turn the app's notifications on or off. You can turn off all notifications for a listed app or choose from specific categories.
Tip: If you don't see "Recently sent," you're using an older Android version. Instead, tap App notifications and tap an app. You can turn notifications, notification dots, and notification categories on or off. If an app has categories, you can tap a category for more options.
Option 2: On a notification
- To find your notifications, from the top of your screen, swipe down.
- Touch and hold the notification, and then tap Settings
.
- Choose your settings:
- To turn off all notifications, turn off All notifications.
- Turn on or off notifications you want to receive.
- To allow notification dots, turn on Allow notification dot.
Option 3: In the certain app
You can control many app notifications from a settings menu in the app. For example, an app could have a setting to choose the sound that app's notifications make. To make these changes, open the app and search for the settings menu.
Apple Devices
In Settings , choose which apps can send notifications, change the alert sound, set up location-based alerts, allow government alerts, and more.
Most notification settings can be customized for each app. You can turn app notifications on or off, have notifications play a sound, choose how and where you want app notifications to appear when your device is unlocked, and more.
- Go to Settings > Notifications.
- Choose how you want notifications displayed on the Lock Screen:
- View just the number of notifications: Tap Count.
- View the notifications grouped into stacks by app: Tap Stack.
- View the notifications in a list: Tap List.
When notifications arrive, you can change the layout by pinching the notifications on the Lock Screen.
- To schedule a notification summary, tap Scheduled Summary, then turn on Scheduled Summary. (See schedule a notification summary.)
- To choose when you want notification previews to appear, tap Show Previews, select an option—Always, When Unlocked, or Never—then tap at the top left. Previews can include things like text (from Messages and Mail) and invitation details (from Calendar). You can override this setting for individual apps.
- Tap an app below Notification Style, then turn Allow Notifications on or off. If you turn on Allow Notifications, choose when you want the notifications delivered—immediately or in the scheduled notification summary—and turn Time Sensitive Notifications on or off. For many apps, you can also set a notification banner style and turn sounds and badges on or off.
- Tap Notification Grouping, then choose how you want the notifications grouped:
- Automatic: The notifications from the app are grouped according to organizing criteria within the app, such as by topic or thread.
- By App: All the notifications from the app are grouped together.
- Off: Turn off grouping.
To turn off notifications selectively for apps, go to Settings > Notifications > Siri Suggestions, then turn off any app.
When you use Focus, it delays the delivery of notifications on iPhone to prevent interruptions.
Turn on Location Services
Android Devices
Option 1: In your Settings app
You can open the Settings app and go to the Location interface.
Tap the App location permissions or App Permissions on your Android device. Now all permitted apps will be listed there. You can scroll down to select the specific one you like to turn off its location services. In general, you get four options to manage the app permissions, Allow all the time, Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, and Don't allow. Select any option except Don’t Allow.
Option 2: In the certain app
- On your phone's home screen, find the app icon.
- Touch and hold the app icon.
- Tap App info .
- Tap Permissions Location.
- Select an option:
- All the time: The app can use your location at any time.
- Only while using the app: The app can use your location only when you're using that app.
- Ask every time: Every time you open the app, it’ll ask to use your location. The app can use the setting until you close it.
6. If you've allowed location access, you can also turn Use Precise Location on or off.
Apple Devices
If you didn’t turn on Location Services when you first set up iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services, then turn on Location Services.
Important: If you turn off Location Services, many important iPhone features stop working.
Review or change an app’s ongoing access to location information
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- To review or change access settings for an app or to see its explanation for requesting Location Services, tap the app.
To allow an app to use your specific location, leave Precise Location turned on. To share only your approximate location—which may be sufficient for an app that doesn’t need your exact location—turn Precise Location off.
Note: If you set the access for an app to Ask Next Time, you’re asked to turn on Location Services again the next time an app tries to use it.
