Title IX
TITLE IX is a federal civil rights law passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. This law protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. The Office of Student Learning is responsible for supporting Title IX, a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive federal funding. Title IX is a critical piece of legislation that ensures equity in athletics and protects students from all forms of sexual harassment, including sexual assault and gender-based harassment. Our office is committed to providing support and resources to ensure that all schools in our district are in compliance with Title IX regulations and that students have access to educational opportunities free from discrimination and harassment. We work closely with administrators, teachers, coaches, and parents to promote awareness of Title IX and to ensure that all individuals understand their rights and responsibilities under the law. By supporting Title IX, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students, regardless of gender identity or expression.
