Principals: Leading the Vision

We are committed to providing principals with the development needed to effectively lead their schools toward Goal 7: Environments of Dignity, Accountability, and Growth.

• Instructional Leadership: In partnership with the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP), we equip leaders to drive Goal 2: Consistent Tier 1 Instruction.
• Data Literacy: Our Director of Assessment supports principals in using data to inform decisions that directly impact Goal 1: Regular Attendance and Goal 3: Tailored Academic Support (MTSS).

The Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST) supports novice educators in Washington through comprehensive induction. The goal of the program is to support and retain beginning educators to ensure equitable access to high-quality education for every student in Washington. When we set up our novice teachers for success, we set up their students for success.

Teachers & Certificated Staff: Excellence in the Classroom

Our certificated staff engages in continuous growth to ensure all students reach Goal 5: Graduation and Post-Secondary Success.

• Mentoring for New Teachers (BEST)-Through the Beginning Educator Support Team (BEST), we provide comprehensive induction for novice educators. By supporting and retaining beginning teachers, we ensure Goal 6: Meaningful Connections, where students feel known and valued by skilled, confident educators from their very first day of school.
• Frameworks for Success: Staff receive deep training in the Marzano Instructional Framework to master the "how" of Goal 2 (Tier 1 Instruction) and Goal 4 (Student Ownership of Learning).
• The PLC+ Process: Weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) allow staff to monitor progress and adapt instruction. Using the PLC+ focus questions, teams ensure that every student—especially those identified in Goal 3 (MTSS)—receives the support they need:
  1. Where are we going?
  2. Where are we now?
  3. How do we move learning forward?
  4. What did we learn today?
  5. Who benefited and who did not benefit? (Driving our commitment to Equity).

Paraeducators: Essential Support

Our paraeducators are vital partners in achieving Goal 3: Tailored Academic Support and Goal 8: Opportunities for Leadership and Creativity. By completing the Fundamental Course of Study and ongoing digital modules, they gain the specialized skills necessary to support individualized student growth and ensure every learner has access to high-quality education.
