Transition to Kindergarten
The Transition to Kindergarten program for the 2025-2026 school year has been filled.
Transition to Kindergarten is a free early learning program serving qualifying students who will be 4 years old by August 31, 2025. Our experienced staff works with students to develop social, behavioral, and academic skills that will help them to be successful in kindergarten.
Qualifications
- Student is 4 years old by August 31 of that school year.
- Student resides in the Mill Pond or Fort Stevens attendance area.
- Student is not currently enrolled in an early learning program.
- Student demonstrates a need, based on entrance screening.
- Student is able to attend a full day of learning, following the school calendar.
Application Window
The application window for the 2025-26 school year is currently closed. Families interested in being added to the waitlist can fill out the screening application below. In the event space becomes available, children who qualify based on application and who reside in the Fort Stevens or Mill Pond attendance areas will be given priority. Student's not in the catchment area will be considered if the student shows a need, space is available, and personal transportation can be provided. Screening appointments will be made if needed. Children will be accepted into the program based on program eligibility and the outcome of the screening. If your child has applied, been screened, and received confirmation that they qualified for the program, please complete the New Student Enrollment form.
