Early Entrance to Kindergarten

Submit the Early Entrance to Kindergarten application along with a $35 application fee to the Office of Student Support between May 1 and June 1.

Early Entrance to Kindergarten - English/Spanish

Students will work individually with a qualified kindergarten teacher to complete the Kindergarten Essential Skills Assessment (KESA). This assessment identifies the foundational skills necessary for success in kindergarten. To proceed to the next round of evaluation, students must demonstrate well above average abilities across all areas assessed. Parents/guardians will be notified of the KESA results in a timely manner after the assessment is completed, along with guidance on the next steps in the process. 

Students who meet the requirements on the KESA will work one-on-one with a school psychologist for a social-emotional development and general cognition evaluation. A student is expected to demonstrate above-average intellectual performance for their chronological age and age-appropriate social-emotional development. A payment of $105 must be submitted to the district office by parents/guardians before the evaluation is completed.

Eligibility will be determined by the combined results of the KESA and the evaluation conducted by the school psychologist. Parents/guardians will receive the final decision before the start of the school year.
