Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Research shows that only 15% of one's success is determined by hard skills (technical skills, certificate, or degree), while the remaining 85% of your success depends on employability or soft skills (communication, teamwork, work ethic, time management, decision making, critical thinking).

Learn more about CTE Programs and how these courses prepare you to achieve your education and career goals.  All course details are available on the YHS Course Catalog.

Stihl Donation

For the past few years, STIHL Northwest has partnered with our Small Engines program by offering onsite visits, access to training and international certification, and donating equipment for students to use as learning tools.

ANEW Participants

For the third year, YCS has partnered with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and ANEW: Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program.  This summer program serves students with disabilities or barriers to education and employment.  Fifteen students graduated from the 2-week training and earned a $800 stipend from DVR.
