Title I
Title I, Part A is a federal program designed “To provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps."
Schoolwide Title Schools
The Title I program is a federally funded program that provides funding for additional support to close the achievement gaps. Title I funds are allocated to school districts according to poverty data from the U.S. census. School buildings receive their Title I funds according to the percent of students receiving free and reduced lunches. In Yelm Community Schools, all six elementary schools are designated as Schoolwide Title Schools.
