Bridges for Kindergarten Program

  • Bridges 4 Kindergarten is a free early learning program serving qualifying students who will be 4 years old by August 31, 2024. Our experienced staff works with students to develop social, behavioral, and academic skills that will help them to be successful in kindergarten.

    Currently, the program is available for qualifying students living in the Fort Stevens and Mill Pond attendance areas. 

    To qualify:

    • students should be 4 years old before the school year begins,
    • reside in Fort Stevens or Mill Pond elementary attendance areas,
    • not be enrolled in an early learning program (such as preschool, Head Start or ECEAP),
    • demonstrate a social-emotional or academic needs that may affect kindergarten success, based on the district entrance screening, and
    • are able to attend a full day of learning, for a full school year, following the school district calendar.

Countdown to Kindergarten Event

  • Countdown to Kindergarten was May 3rd at Yelm Middle School. Hosted by the district, this annual event offers a variety of activities, resources, and information for families with children who will be starting kindergarten in the upcoming school year.
