YCS Families Thank you to students and families for following the COVID procedures while riding the bus. These guidelines and seating charts are helping to keep all students as safe as possible and reduce the spread of the virus. However, these procedures prevent us from accommodating individual, one-time route change requests. If a student requires a different pick-up/drop-off on a regular basis, transportation will work with the parent to assign a seat on each route. Please contact 360.458.3300. If there is a one-time change in a student's pick-up, please email the school office at MP_attendance@ycs.wednet.edu or send a note with the student indicating who has permission to pick up the student. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a safe and efficient bus ride for our students. Mrs. Jeri Lipe, Principal
Principals are the foundation of success for a campus and its students. As leaders, they are responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of all staff and the delivery of high-quality instruction in every aspect of Mill Pond. They also must handle disciplinary issues, manage budgets, and maintain a connection to students, staff, parents, and the school community. It’s not an easy job, but it is an incredibly rewarding and crucial one. Principals, Ms. Lipe, thank you for being a guiding light during these trying times. We are celebrating you all month long! www.principalsmonth.org #ThankAPrincipal
We are pleased to share the new guidance published by the Department of Health (DOH) and Thurston County Health Department (PHSS) to reduce the length of time a “close contact” is out of school. More information regarding COVID procedures is available in our Q & A section of the website.
The Bounty for Families board recently created the Learners Without Limits program that empowers students to break through social and economic barriers to graduation by providing access to stable housing, clothing, nutritious food, and hygiene essentials to ensure that every student graduates.
