Introduction

  • At Yelm Community Schools, we are committed to ensuring that our students have access to strong postsecondary pathways that prepare them for success in college and careers. To achieve this goal, the Office of Student Learning fosters several higher education partnerships. These partnerships include the College in the High School Program, which allows students to earn college credit while still in high school, and the Running Start Program, which provides eligible students the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses at South Puget Sound Community College and a variety of other local colleges. We also offer the Place-Based Associate of Arts Degree Program, which provides a comprehensive and affordable degree pathway for students who would like to remain on the high school program and earn a degree. Additionally, our High School Plus and English Language Learner Adult Basic Education Programs provide targeted support to help students succeed academically and personally. These partnerships are a critical component of our efforts to prepare students for success in the 21st century workforce and ensure that they have the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their full potential. We are proud to partner with local colleges and universities to provide our students with access to strong postsecondary pathways, and we are grateful for the support of the Washington Student Achievement Council in funding our innovative place-based Yelm High School Associate of Arts Direct Transfer Degree Program.
