Permanent Records

  • The school maintains a record on each student. Records contain a summary of each year’s grades, testing, and attendance data as well as summaries of conferences and teacher anecdotal records. In compliance with Federal Laws 93-380 and 93-568, parents are welcomed to review the cumulative records of their child with the principal. All parents and guardians of students under the age of 18 years and all students over the age of 18 years have the right to examine the official records, files, and data of the school district directly related to the student. The school is prohibited from releasing any personally identifiable records about individual students without written parent consent. However, the school may release a list of students belonging to a group (i.e. – Valentine’s Day class list). A student’s name will be excluded from a list upon written request by a parent or guardian. The school may release photos of students for public information purposes. Please sign and return the YCS opt out form for student photographs and directory information if you do not wish this information regarding your student to be released.
