Curtis Cleveringa, Principal
An educator of 23 years, Mr. Cleveringa is the Principal of Yelm High School. He previously served as the Principal of Capital High School in Olympia (2016-2021) and the K-12 Principal in the Taholah School District (2014-2016). Mr. Cleveringa started his educational career as a teacher in Zillah in (1998-2008), continuing as a 5th /6th grader teacher at Bluffdale Elementary with the Jordan School district in Utah. (2008-2014). A father to three boys, he believes in enjoying life by being of service to others. He lives by the quote, “Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift”.
Michelle Anderson, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Anderson is a life-long Thurston County resident and educator of 32 years. She started her teaching career in Kobe, Japan, for two years teaching EFL and then returned to teach Japanese and Asian Studies at Tumwater HS for 10 years. She then transitioned to Administration as a high school Assistant Principal at Capital HS for the past twenty years. She is excited to come to Tornado country at YHS as an Assistant Principal this year. She has two daughters, Makenzie (20 years old) and Hannah (23 years old) along with her husband Jim and cat, Carter. She enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, gardening, cooking and sci-fi movies. Ali Jacobson, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Jacobson grew up in Argentina and enjoys using her bilingual skills to help others. This is her 25th year as an educator and still enjoying every moment. She taught high school Spanish for 18 years in Missouri, Texas and Washington. She also taught middle school Spanish, ELA and Drama for four years with DoDEA in South Korea. This is her third year as a YHS Assistant Principal and is a proud Tornado. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and their fun loving Corgi. Erin Wilkinson, Assistant Principal

Erin Wilkinson is an educator of 15 years who previously served as Dean of Students at Clover Park School District. Prior to that, she was an Instructional Coach and Middle/High School English teacher in Washington D.C., Detroit, MI, Reno, NV, and Shelton, WA. In her free time, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband Ben, her 3-year-old Newfoundland Piper, as well as cooking, camping, and riding motorcycles. "Alone, we can do so little.
