Every January, Yelm Community celebrates National School Board Recognition Month to honor the men and women who serve on the Yelm Community School Board. These dedicated public servants become school board trustees because they are committed to improving public education and their communities. They devote many hours of their time to making sure the students of Yelm School District receive a high-quality education that will make them lifelong learners and prepare them for successful, rewarding lives and careers. They make sure Yelm School District provides students with schools that are safe and have the resources and instructional programs they need to educate children to their fullest potential. Thank you to all the Yelm School Board. Denise Hendrickson (District 3), serving since 1998 Debbie Edwards (District 4), service since 1984 Bill Hauss (District 5), serving since 2004 Donna Edwards (District 2), serving since 2000 Mark Rohwedder (District 1), serving since 2013

We are heading into the winter months. One of the most difficult decisions we face is to close or delay the start of a school day due to weather. We know how much this decision impacts families. At the heart of the decision, however, is the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
