Message from the Principal

: Dear McKenna Families and Friends,On behalf of the staff at McKenna Elementary, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 2012-13 school year. We have a great deal to be proud of as we begin the new year. Your children continue to achieve and demonstrate a sense of pride in themselves and our school. This sense of pride is something we hope all students at our school can feel and carry with them always. This pride is developed and firmed by having high expectations and working hard to meet those expectations. The result of our efforts will be the creation of self-respecting, confident, and intelligent citizens. This is the ultimate goal of education and the hope for every student at McKenna Elementary. “You just can’t hide our Mountain Lion pride!” One of our greatest strengths at McKenna Elementary is our dedicated staff who come to work everyday committed to helping each and everyone of your children realize their potential. They work tirelessly with our 500 plus students to provide them with learning experiences that not only prepare them to be successful in school but in life. I encourage you to stop in and meet your child’s teachers and our staff to find out how you can partner with us in your children’s education. When we partner together, everything is possible! My door is always open and I look forward to meeting each of you and sharing with you how you can be involved in your children’s educational experience at McKenna Elementary as we work together this year to help your children learn and grow. Please feel free to contact us here at school at (360) 458-2400 with your questions or comments. Your comments and feedback are needed and appreciated. It’s going to be a great year! Matt J.
